Bek and the team :) xox

Wow born in the 60's and soooo many amazing songs to chose from, but where to start? Well I started first with the pics, I had three in mind that would have worked with this challenge but after a bit of googling I decided to go with this one of myself in my dads arms, I absolutely adore this pic as it is only one of a few I have of myself as a bubba with my father. I don't think that I could have picked a better song than this by the great JOK (1969) as he was an awesome australian artist in his time, and the lyrics are just perfect.

Short black hair makes her look so sweet
My baby's pretty from her head to her feet
She is my baby and I want you to know
I'm gonna keep her, 'cause I love her so
Because she's my baby, Gonna keep her for my own
She's my baby and I love her so
She's my baby, never let her go
She's my baby, and I need her so
Lovin' little honey won't you please be mine
Dark brown eyes and her lips so red
She is the only one can make me care
Now listen buddy, gonna let you know
She is my baby and I love her so
Because she's my baby, Gonna keep her for my own
She's my baby and I love her so
She's my baby, never let her go
She's my baby, and I need her so
Lovin' little honey won't you please be mine
Take a trip to Paris, even go to Spain
Go the whole world over, we'll go round again
There's nothing can compare with her, I'm glad to say
She's my little baby and she's here to stay
Because she's my baby, Gonna keep her for my own
She's my baby and I love her so
She's my baby, never let her go
She's my baby, and I need her so
Lovin' little honey won't you please be mine
Alright, I'm hot, Mmm hot, Yeah, (hot) (fade)

So looking forward to seeing what the rest of the CT do, hugs and love Annette xo

I'm even older than Annette being born in 1954.There are 4 songs from the year I that relate to for various reasons: Stranger in Paradise, 3 coins in the fountain, Secret Love and Mr Sandman.
I've chosen Stranger in Paradise.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsKi8R8bazY&feature=player_embedded
The song is somewhat sad but the words are meaningful to so many people.
The pictures in this you tube are gorgeous and maybe they can inspire you too.

Take my hand
I'm a stranger in paradise
All lost in a wonderland
A stranger in paradise
If I stand starry-eyed
That's a danger in paradise
For mortals who stand beside
An angel like you
I saw your face
And I ascended
Out of the commonplace
Into the rare
Somewhere in space
I hang suspended
Until I know
There's a chance that you care
Won't you answer the fervent prayer
Of a stranger in paradise
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for
But open your angel's arms
To the stranger in paradise
And tell him
That he need be
A stranger no more
She:
I saw your face
And I ascended
Out of the commonplace
Into the rare
Both:
Somewhere in space
I hang suspended
She:
Until I know
He:
Till the moment I know
She:
There's a chance that you care
He:
There's a chance that you care
She:
Won't you answer the fervent prayer
Of a stranger in paradise
He:
Don't send me in dark despair
From all that I hunger for
Both:
But open your angel's arms
To the stranger in paradise
And tell me that I may be
A stranger no more.

The photos are from Vanuatu where we climbed to Mele Cascades, a beautiful waterfall. It was gorgeous and cool in the tropical climate.Maybe you've a photo of your idea of paradise that you can scrap too.
Here's my layout.I've dragged white paint using card to achieve the waterfall effect.Have fun!!!

Hello Mary here
Being old :( boo  when I looked up the songs from 1958 the only song that took my fancy was "Catch a Falling Star" by Perry Como. I think I can vaguely remember singing this to the kids at some stage. It's one of those songs that the words get stuck in your head and you can't get them out, but they are nice lyrics. The other girls have come up with fabulous layouts once again, I can't wait to see what songs you come up with from the year you were born

and here is my take , My eldest Son playing in the back yard when he was 18mths old. I hope he always has a star in his pocket for a rainy day

Thanks Mary x

Hi Peeps,

Well I was not too sure how to tackle this challenge because there were so many ROKin songs from the 70's so I thought the easiest thing to do was google the top 100 songs from the year I was born......and who should pop up? No one other than the great Sir Elton John

Crazy..........yep, just like me :)
PERFECT

One of his songs in the top 100 from (gulp) 1976 was Island Girl

The first thing I thought of one one of my favourite pictures of Alecia when we went to Fiji in 2010 - crazily enough I was singing the silly song in my head the whole time I was creating the layout

Looking forward to seeing what you all create - we have a great sponsor this month so hop to it and relive your youth

Till next time
BBxx...

Great stuff girls!
I was a 70's baby too and guess what I chose an Elton John song too!!! Couldn't help it after I took this pic of Ethan dressing up.

"Crocodile Rock"
by Elton John

Here is my sample:

Thanks so much to Leeann for The Chip Chop Shop for supplying us with a lovely pack of goodies to use. I have used a doily I cut in half, a green button and a journalling spot.

Take Care

I'm really excited about this challenge. I've never really thought about songs from the year I was born before! Mum and Dad were never really into the "latest" music when I was little (Neil Diamond, Charlie Pride, Dean Martin, etc are hardly groovers!), so I'm really looking forward to picking something groovy from my birth year!
