Don't worry,be happy!

This Bobby Mc Ferrin ,and later Bob Marley, song has been a mantra of mine for some time.If family or friends are distressed I encourage them to look on the bright side.
Have you noticed that the song itself forces you to join in singing the words?(Even when at first you don't want to).
My layout features my sister and I as children building sandcastles on the beach...a very happy memory.

On the road again

Well I have to admit I struggled a bit with this months challenge, to scrap using a song from the 80's as your inspiration. It is a time when we are certainly spoilt for choice in regard to some funky music but nothing was rocking my boat until I stumbled across this classic country song by Willy Nelson "On the road again". I immediately thought of the trip that Kim and I recently took to Brisbane for the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo on the June long weekend, it was a trip that we took last year so being on the road again fitted in so perfectly. Anyhow here it is and hope that you don't have as much indecision as I did, cheers Annette

Back to the 80's

Hi Peeps,

BB here...........

Unfortunately due to a tight university schedule this month and exams I haven't been able to get an example layout done for you all on our theme this month which is

Yep you guessed it.........the good ole 80's
Are you inspired?

Maybe I can help you out a bit............let's jump in the time machine and check it out

Can you remember the big hair, ruffle skirts, hoop earrings, coloured sunglasses, bright bold fashion, leg warmers? Oh and don't forget the lacey gloves....you only wore one didn't you?

And what about the music?

Bands with big hair.............that is all - he he

Ok let's jump back in the time machine and get back to reality

I hope I have inspired you all a bit - as well as songs think about some elements of the 80's that you could incorporate onto your pages such as an 80's colour palette, material, stars, lightning bolts, big bows, circles to represent bangles..........oh I could keep going all day with this list.

You have until the end of the month to link your layouts

Last but not least here is a little poem for inspiration -

Jelly shoes or Kangaroos
White Keds
Spiral perms, mullets galore, rat tails
One long, dangly, silver earring

Gnarly, dude!
Where's the beef?
I wanna skip school with Ferris Bueller
Drive a DeLorean
Learn karate from Mr. Miyagi
Sing like Debbie Gibson
Collect scratch-n-sniff stickers
Grab George Michael's butt
Organize my flavored lip gloss and Lee Press-On Nails in my pink Caboodle
Show off my Liz Claiborne purse and my Swatch watch
Skate like Tony Hawk
Trade Messy Tessy for Potty Scotty
Play "Donkey Kong" or "Frogger" on the Atari
Moonwalk like Michael Jackson
Kiss Han Solo
Flirt like Smurfette
Flaunt my Esprit shirt and Guess jeans
Smell like Strawberry Shortcake
Hug my Care Bear

Wicked!
Avoid the Noid!

Can I take my Cabbage Patch Kid to school, Mom? Please?
I won't get Gizmo wet or feed him after midnight, I promise.
How high can my bangs go? Not high enough!
Alex P. Keaton, will you tutor me? Is Mallory still dating Nick?
Where's my Big League Chew?
Marry me, John Cusack!

Like, gag me with a spoon!
I hate the 80's and wish I'd grown up in a different decade...NOT!

He he he
Till next time
Happy Scrapping

BBxx

Songs from the 80's

Hello Mary here

Well the 80's was my time , so there are heaps of great songs for me to choose from. Lately I have been listening to Bob Seger a lot, so I decided to choose his song " Against the Wind" I think it is a great song about life. I think it covers from our first love and things that happen in our life and we are running against the wind and then when we are older we are still running against the wind , but for different reasons. Love to see what song speaks to you from the 80's

and this is my layout

So come on girls , lots of great songs out there

Cheers
Mary

Songs from the 1980s

June's challenge is to scrap a song from the 1980's.And weren't there some memorable ones!
I've chosen one which was originally sung by Cliff Richard in 1959 but was reintroduced because of a TV show in the beginning of the 1980s. The show was the "Young Ones", a British comedy about 4 uni students and they parodied a lot of Cliff Richard's songs.LIVING DOLL is my choice!
Here's my layout featuring my daughter aged then about 1.(She was born in the 1980s).
And the link to you tube is here....ENJOY! And we would love to see your efforts. from JULENE
