Songs that provoke an emotion
Hi all
Bek here.. reporting for duty..
Its my turn to post, and i have been a bit sick lately and so has the household. In the time i have had to think and what i would scrap for this post, i thought about how lucky i am i have overcome alot of obstacles in my past and can honestly say i am really blessed and so grateful for 2 beautiful children. Do we really stop and actually have those moments or do we caught up in our everyday lives???
I have been thinking of songs that inspire you, that make you believe in things, that make you feel thankful and grateful for what you have and i can honestly say that there definitely needs to be more of them lol..
This is my partners favourite "grateful"song, He nearly cries everytime he hears it, and the first time was not long after Dawson was born, as i had it playing in the car. I think sometimes you realise just how precious our loved ones really are to us and how lucky we are to have them in our lives.
Just a warning though.. if you watch this you will be bound to shed a tear.. i know i did.. so just a word of caution..
My take on the above...
Dont you love the little girl praying?? Can you see her, just next to the love ticket??
Shes gorgeous and designed by the lovely Leeann Pearce and is available at her etsy shop The chip chop shop..
Heres just some of things Leeann has on offer for purchase...
Mushrooms...
Birdies...
Duckies..
Hand Dyed Doilies..
As well as designing for Aussie Scrap Source, Hambly Prints and the Basic Grey Team, she also designs her own creations.
Everything is hand made and painted by Leeann.. so make sure you head on over to the store here and grab yourself some lovely handmade original goodies.. made by our lovely international designer Leeann.
Well thats it from me, todays the last day for entries into the Feb challenge, but Friday we are loading our March Challenge. So keep an eager eye out for this one,, the girls takes are just incredible and all so different.. :)

I should be so lucky and other Kylie songs
Do you have a favourite Kylie song?
The little Australian budgie has inspired many a singer and is still better than most I can think of lately.she's been recording for over 25 years and was recently inducted into the ARIA hall of fame.
Here's some of her well known hits
Locomotion
Get out of my way
All the lovers
Love at First sight
Santa baby
In your eyes
In my arms
Aphrodite
Better than today
Put your hands up
Slow
2 hearts
Come into my world
closer
Cupid boy
Red blooded woman
Wow
Everything is beautiful
Illusion
Spinning around
Looking for an angel
Speakerphone
I believe in you
The one
On a night like this
better the devil you know.
And my tribute to her is in the form of a layout about travel.Lately I'm missing overseas holidays, especially remembering Ireland.I plan to get back there one day.... my title is I should be so lucky!
What is your favourite Kylie song? Looking forward to your comments on this......Julene

Teenage Dream
Hi Peeps..........
Don't worry - I am not going all Katy Perry on you but I am reliving one of my teenage dreams.
ROXETTE were a big part of my younger years and I was fortunate enough to meet them when I was 13 years old - these were the pictures I took on my awesome (ha ha) camera in 1989.................
And then last night I went to the first concert of their 2012 world tour
The concert was FUN and I am glad that I had the opportunity to go along to it. There was a group of 10 of us who went so we were like excited little teenagers again.
In saying that I would like to know whether any of you have ever had the opportunity to meet any of your favourite bands or singers?
AND
When you were a teenager and music consumed your life what bands or singers did you just listen to over and over again?
BBxx

Love......
Yep February is Love month :)
We don't really do Valentines Day in our house but it's always nice to sit for a little while and think about those that you love.
When I think about when Brian and I met I automatically think about the soundtrack to that time. For me it was Michael Bubles Come Fly With Me album. I love Bubles music, love that Big Band era, just something about it makes my heart sing.
The one song that really sums up that fabulous time is Moondance.
Brian and I met at TAFE while doing our Cert 3 certificates and almost every day when I would get into my car after class this song would be playing in the tape deck. All the flirting and butterflies and wondering if he really did like me too or was he just being friendly are summed up perfectly in this song for me.
When Brian and I get married this will be one song that will definitely be played during our first dance.
Many couples have their song, we don't really have any one song for us, but this is certainly the song that I fell in love with Brian too.
Do you have a love song?
TFL!

Break Up Songs
Hello Lovely ladies
This time every Feb we see alot of challenges being about love and thought it about time to do something different. What happens when not everyone has their happy ever after? So we chose break ups as this months theme. We realise not everyone may be not willing to share this personal event, nor that they could relate, so also included is just doing a challenge on a sad song as well. Scrap the feeling involved. Thats what this challenge is about this month - finding feeling in the song.
This Months Challenge we were set is to scrap about a breakup song. I found this quite challenging as I am happily married lol, and didn't really think hubby would appreciate a layout about an ex. But hey it is all part of my life story right and I don't think he needs to worry unless I am doing the Breakup Song page about him! Which I'm not, so as far as I'm concerned it's all cool.
As the only breakup song that kept coming to my mind was Carol King's song "So Far Away" as when my then boyfriend went back to his home town to live and being about 9 hours away this is the song I pined to. As a lot of long distance romances , distance takes its toll and I guess my Hubby saw his chance to ask me out and as they say the rest is history. Three amazing children and two beautiful Grandchildren and one spoilt dog, 33 years later we are still together and I can't see that ever changing.
This is what scrapbooking is about the memories and our life history and I couldn't just do a layout that didn't have meaning to me.
Carol's a bit older in this clip to way back in the 70's
Bek here.. arent these gorgeous ?
I chose STRONGER by KELLY CLARKSON as it really resonated for me.
If there was one defining moment of a previous failed relationship for me, this song captures it and even still when i hear it today i still feel empowered by it. Yes it is a break up song, but it is also a powerful song about a woman who took her life back and stood on her own.
and this is my take on the challenge.
Have fun with the challenge !!

Hi Peeps........BB Here
As Mary suggested it is really hard to pick a break up song when you are happily married - so what does BB do? I ask my facebook friends ..... and immediately I get texts asking what's happened and an inbox full of messages ( made me giggle ). One of our members Jess Mackenzie came up with P!NK's song "So What" and immediately I was like 'deerrrrrr BB she is your favourite singer' - so the song had now been chosen by the facebook gods.
Here is the song for anyone who does not know it
I had the same problem, how do you scrap a break up when you're happy??? Then I realised I don't have to scrap a break up, just create a layout inspired by a break up song!
Wondering what the hell to do
Yeah, I'm trying to concentrate
But all I can think of is you
Well, the phone don't ring
'Cos my friends at home
I'm tired of being all alone
Got the TV on
'Cos the radio's playing songs
That remind me of you
Baby, when you're gone I realise I'm just in love
The days go on and on and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good
Drink ain't doing what it should
Things just feel so wrong
Baby, when you're gone, yeah
I've been driving up and down these streets
Trying to find somewhere to go
Yeah, I'm lookin' for a familiar face
But there's no-one I know
Oh, this is torture, this is pain
It feels like I'm gonna go insane
I hope you're coming back real soon
'Cos I don't know what to do
Baby, when you're gone I realise I'm just in love
The days go on and on and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good
Drink ain't doing what it should
Things just feel so wrong
Baby, when you're gone, yeah
Hey, don't go back, don't go
Yeah, when you're gone
Don't go, don't go, well, baby
Oh, baby, when you're gone (when you're gone)
I realise I'm in love (so in love)
The days go on and on
And the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good
Oh, drink ain't doing what it should
Oh, things just feel so wrong (so wrong)
Baby, when you're gone (you're gone)
Oh, baby, when you're gone
Yeah, baby, when you're gone

It's a bit overcast here today, so the colours are more vibrant IRL. I have hidden journalling tucked in the side of the photo telling the story and some of the words of the song written down as well. We were at a fancy dress ball this night and let me tell you I drank way to much of that bottle of Southern Comfort you can see in the corner of the pic, in fact I think I ended up drinking the whole bottle !
Can't wait to see what you all come up with. Happy Scrapping
Mary x
When I think of break up songs "If you leave me now" by Chicago always runs through my mind.It came out around the time I separated from my ex husband(featured in the old photo).Naturally,my layout had to feature him.Luckily,we are still friends and have shared the raising of our daughter successfully now.The colourscheme had to be blue,so I chose this paper by Ruby Rock-it.This was also a good way to use up some of the spare lettering . Share your break up song with us.There are soooo many you must be able to think of one.Happy Scrapping from Julene

There is a section in the film clip where P!NK chainsaws down a tree with her and her husband's name on it.
This section of the video clip has a fond memory for me............it's how my gorgeous little ALECIA got her name. Here is my layout......
See......break up songs don't always have to be depressing. I cant wait to see what you all come up with for this challenge.
Happy Scrappy Days

Hi all Annette here and this is my take on the breakup song challenge. I decided to use the song "Don't it make my brown eyes blue" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9lz_yzrGZw&feature=related most of the words aren't really relevant to my page, but the title of the song is. I have brown eyes and often when I am sad, have a relationship end (like this one) etc - my eyes go blue.
The dt has got so many different takes on this, how will you intrepret it, can't wait to see, hugs and love Annette xo
Wow awesome work girls!!!!
I had the same problem, how do you scrap a break up when you're happy??? Then I realised I don't have to scrap a break up, just create a layout inspired by a break up song!
My song is Leaving on a Jet Plane
and of course I love this version they sung on "Armaggedon"
Here is my sample:
My boys all love to watch Jets at the airport take off.
This pic was taken at Melbourne Airport. My babies were amazed to see the BIG aeroplanes,
they don't get BIG ones like that in Adelaide.
Jet Junkies they all are! Can't wait to see how this song inspires you
Take Care

HiHo!!!
Fellow scrappy pals....Kim here.... I'm a little late as I've had a few drama's over the last few weeks, one sick little boy....who spent a week in hospital, daughter turning 18....school going back...hubby going to Perth....the list goes on....blah! blah!...blah!!
Now back to scrappiness issues.
The song I've chosen for this month is.....
(When you're gone)
I've been wandering around the house all nightWondering what the hell to do
Yeah, I'm trying to concentrate
But all I can think of is you
Well, the phone don't ring
'Cos my friends at home

'Cos I don't know what to do
Baby, when you're gone I realise I'm just in love
The days go on and on and the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good
Drink ain't doing what it should
Things just feel so wrong
Baby, when you're gone, yeah
Hey, don't go back, don't go
Yeah, when you're gone
Don't go, don't go, well, baby
Oh, baby, when you're gone (when you're gone)
I realise I'm in love (so in love)
The days go on and on
And the nights just seem so long
Even food don't taste that good
Oh, drink ain't doing what it should
Oh, things just feel so wrong (so wrong)
Baby, when you're gone (you're gone)
Oh, baby, when you're gone
Yeah, baby, when you're gone
and for my layout I just couldn't do a true break-up type of layout sooo I done it about how I feel when my darling hubby goes away.....
It reads When your GONE, I realize I'm in Love.
Hope you enjoy the challenge this month ladies.....look forward to seeing heaps of amazing entries!
Have a great month
KIM xxx
